❄ Dear Yuletide Author ❄
Hi! ♥
Firstly: I'm so glad you're here, you clearly have great taste in fandoms. I'm excited for just MORE of any of these canons so please take whatever inspires you from all the words below and ignore the rest!
I'm open to treats and have gifts enabled :)
Where to find me: afterism on AO3 | onlylostphysics on tumblr.
Navigation: Likes | DNWs | Fandoms: Bedazzled (1967) | Blazing Saddles (1974) | The Vicars of Lower Squashby - Jared Pechacek
Fics of all ratings, all tenses and POVs, magical realism, silliness, adventure, case fic, ghost stories (with real ghosts or just overactive imaginations), science and pseudoscience and the Indiana Jones style of archaeology, terrible jokes (and good jokes), competency, fantasy & urban fantasy, myths and legends and fairytales, apocalypse and post-apocalypse fic, distinctive/atmospheric settings, epistolary fic, unusual formats, canon-divergence AUs, roadtrip fic, domesticity, hurt/comfort, slices of life and anything that reveals character.
Also; people acquiring pets, loyalty kink, moral ambiguity, first times, getting together rather than established relationship, shameless tropes (time loops! fake dating! bodyswap! sudden telepathy! we must share body heat to survive!), crossdressing, enemies-to-lovers, friends-to-lovers, happy, hopeful or bittersweet endings.
I love seeing characters showing affection in their own unique way, relationships being important and intense and not necessarily romantic, relationships that are physically intimate before becoming emotionally intimate, relationships that only make sense to the people involved, and love being anything but straightforward.
Porn is very welcome but is not required at all. Vanilla sex and smut that focuses entirely on what the characters are thinking and feeling is always lovely. If you want to write kinks, my favourites include verbal/honour bondage, light bondage, praise kink, any painplay that doesn't leave permanent damage, femdom, d/s elements that aren't painstakingly negotiated and both characters are conveniently into, sex pollen/fuck or die scenarios, desperation leading to frottage & sex with clothes on. Please avoid maledom/femsub, anything to do with collars, necks/breathing being impeded in any way, bloodplay, and bodily fluids that aren't commonly involved in sex.
Non-con, serious illnesses or pandemics, permanent main character death, animal cruelty or death, bleak and hopeless endings, setting change AUs, unrequested crossovers.
Stanley Moon, George Spiggott
If you're unfamiliar with the fandom but curious: it's a film starring Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, about a man who sells his soul to Lucifer in exchange for seven wishes, which in theory he uses to woo the woman of his dreams but mostly he just becomes accidental BFFs with the Devil. (IMDB)
Gen would of course be lovely, but if you're tempted by Stanley/George then here are some more thoughts: it could be a temptation, a curiosity, friends helping out friends (fake dating?!), a twist to a wish that turns out surprisingly well for the both of them, somehow it's Lust's fault, somehow it's Envy's fault, Stanley realises he has genuine feelings, George realises he has genuine feelings and acts accordingly/terribly - anything.
Sheriff Bart
If you're unfamiliar with the fandom but curious: tbc!
I love the anachronisms and the fourth-wall breaking and the joyous nonsense of it all (something with less literal wall breaking and more Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead vibes would be amazing, if you're into that), but you can keep it strictly within the wild west world if you want! Period-typical *isms are fine to include, but I prefer it when they're swiftly undercut. I don't watch many westerns and my knowledge of the wild west is entirely based on pop culture, so all the tropes will be shiny and new to me.
Obviously I ship him with Jim, and would be delighted with him being included whether it's gen or shipfic! Please feel free to read any of the above prompts with (and Jim's there, and maybe they kiss).

If you're unfamiliar with the fandom but curious: it's a book that doesn't exist. You can read excerpts from it in this twitter thread.
I have many questions, but I don't require answers. If you have explanations for any of the moments in this story I would be delighted to read them, but I would be equally delighted with, simply, MORE.

Fandoms
Bedazzled (1967)
Stanley Moon, George Spiggott
If you're unfamiliar with the fandom but curious: it's a film starring Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, about a man who sells his soul to Lucifer in exchange for seven wishes, which in theory he uses to woo the woman of his dreams but mostly he just becomes accidental BFFs with the Devil. (IMDB)
Anything in the spirit of the film would be perfect! Optional prompts:
- Something post-canon, with Stanley moving on with his life and George continuing to be a constant chaotic force within it, or George finds someone new to trick and likes to bring Stanley along for the ride, regardless of how Stanley feels about it.
- I'd love to see more of the club - maybe Stanley decides to do George a favour and go work for him there, to be his only employee that's both competent and actually likes him?
- I do love the discussions on God and angels and hierarchy, if you wanted to write them just talking about heaven and hell for the whole fic.
- Something set during the film - you could expand on any of the realities that Stanley's wishes created, or explore what other wishes Stanley might have made if he'd been nudged in another direction.
Blazing Saddles (1974)
Sheriff Bart
If you're unfamiliar with the fandom but curious: tbc!
I just want to spend more time with Bart! Anything in the spirit of the film, pre or post canon, would be amazing. Optional prompts:I watched this for the first time very recently, with no expectations beyond "Mel Brooks! Maybe gay cowboys?" and was blindsided by how hard and fast I fell in love with Bart. He's the cleverest person in any room and he deals with every awful situation with humour and brilliance and clear-eyed optimism and I just want more of that.
Pre-canon - tell me more about how he grew up, his first loves, other times when he got out of a bad situation by being his brilliant self. What other jobs has he had? Has he always been able to break the fourth wall when needed?
Post canon - exploring the wild west by horseback or limo! Sleeping around the campfire or shitty motels inexplicably in the middle of the desert. Adventure and gunfights and taking shortcuts through the backlot!
Or, more genres! What happens if he stumbles into a gothic western, or 70s sci-fi, or a fantasy film?
I love the anachronisms and the fourth-wall breaking and the joyous nonsense of it all (something with less literal wall breaking and more Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead vibes would be amazing, if you're into that), but you can keep it strictly within the wild west world if you want! Any
If you're unfamiliar with the fandom but curious: it's a book that doesn't exist. You can read excerpts from it in this twitter thread.
*gestures at the canon* Yes. That. More of that, please. Free feel to expand on literally anything introduced in the quotes (the seductive properties of lemons? The benefits of tame vs feral vicars? Is the stable boy... okay?) or give us a glimpse of the other pages in this 700+ page book! Focusing on any of the nominated characters or general worldbuilding would be equally amazing. I'm here for the nonsense.I love historical romance, I love period dramas, I love The Importance of Being Earnest style of satire and pastiches and sci-fi and horror and the feeling of what the fuck is happening :D. This book was made for me, and I am bereft that it doesn't exist. Also, I immediately shipped Lydia/Vanessa, but the Vicar Who Is a College-Educated Woman should be allowed to get involved in that if she wants to.
I have many questions, but I don't require answers. If you have explanations for any of the moments in this story I would be delighted to read them, but I would be equally delighted with, simply, MORE.
